The goal setting strategies outlined below is the guide that I use to maximize the use of my time.
Here are the four strategies:
Strategy #1: Evaluate
What do really want in life? Where do I want to live? What my plan for my future?
Start visualizes your dreams then slowly looks back to the present and evaluate on what you need to focus on in order for you to achieve your dream.
Strategy #2: Action Plan
You must identify what your key action plan steps. You must ask yourself, what step do I need to take? What strategy should I focus on?
Planning is an important strategy to set your goal. You must create a short-term and the long term goals if you want to have effective plan for you plan for your future.
Remember that “if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.”
Strategy #3: Focus on Your Goal
In order to achieve your goal, you must focus on one goal at a time instead of focus on achieve two or more goal at the same time.
If you have a dream of becoming a successful novelist, painter or a photographer, can you achieve it all at the same time?
The answer is yes you can.
You won’t lose focus if you know which of your goals your first priority is. If being a novelist is your first choice, you can still do painting and photography at the side as a hobby.
Just remember, don’t let these hobby take up too much of your time when becoming a novelist is your first priority.
Strategy #4: Monitor and Re-evaluate Your Progress
When evaluate your goal, you need to ask yourself the following questions:
- Am I doing fine?
- Am I on the right track?
- Am I on time?
- What strategies are working?
- What are not?
- Can I streamline my process?
We have outlined some action steps during our planning process. But we rarely take the time to think thoroughly what actions are needed. By re-evaluating, we can identify the actions that are not needed.
